Replacement Cricket Nets – Hunter Park
A planning application has been submitted for new cricket training nets.
Published: 4 June 2025

In the Spring edition of Twyford News, Twyford Cricket Club gave an update on their plans for replacement cricket training nets at Hunter Park. These nets are proposed to be located in the south area of the park, on the site of the old pavilion, in the area between the football pitch and maintenance sheds.
The Parish Council supports this project and has worked closely with the club in developing their plans over the past two years. The nets will also be available to book for public use. Previous feedback from the community in the Spring of 2023 did not support the original proposed location, adjacent to the tennis courts, for the replacement nets and therefore this alternative location takes into account those concerns.
A Planning Application, reference SDNP/25/01637/FUL, has be submitted. The details can be viewed online at www.southdowns.gov.uk and comments can be submitted.
Assuming the planning permission is successful, once the new training nets have been constructed and brought into use, the Parish Council intends to remove the old nets.
